Nanjing YMCA Shoebox Gift Activity
Classmates, on a frigid winter day, when you are wearing the warm scarf your
mother bought you and walking home with your backpack, when you play with your
favorite toys at home, when you sit at a desk and read, have you ever considered
that a thousand miles away there is a similar group of children, and all they have
to resist the cold is a cotton-padded jacket, they do not have a favorite book, and
they play with the simple toys they made themselves… So, the Nanjing YMCA hereby
launches the second “shoebox gift” activity, we look forward to you joining!
Requirements:
1 – a set of school supplies. Prepare a set of writing materials, including: a pencil
box, pencils, rulers and notebooks.
2 – one of your favorite books (select a book that you think is the best)
3 – a set of warm products for daily use, including: scarves (more than 80% new),
gloves, new socks, etc. (clothing, for example)
4 – one of your favorite toys, dolls, animal toys, models, puzzles, etc. (more than
80% new)
5 – 10 Yuan—every shoebox gift needs 10 Yuan for postage (the school
organization’s total is delivered to the responsible teacher)
Additional instructions:
1) Students that need a return letter, please write your letter, attach postage,
and place it in the shoebox. If the corresponding student receives the gift and
cannot write a return letter, the reason is they are too young or their school
is located in a remote mountain district. We hope that you can understand.
2) Gifts cannot be less than 50 Yuan. All gifts must be clean and neat.
3) Scary toys, liquids, and easily broken objects cannot be donated.
